All About Christina and Her Life!
Christina M. Jenkins was born as Christina Mae Thomas on December 25, 1920 in Zillplatt, Louisiana. She began researching ways to secure wigs and hairpieces while working for a wig manufacturer in Chicago in 1949. Christiana married Herman "Duke" Jenkins, who became a popular jazz pianist in Cleveland. She received a patent in 1951 for her hair weaving method that continues to be used by hairstylists around the world. Christina Jenkins graduated with a bachelor's degree in science from Leland College near Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1943. She began researching ways to secure wigs and hairpieces while working for a Chicago wig manufacturer in 1949. She moved to Malvern, Ohio near Canton and continued developing what she called the hair weaving method. Which was designed for making hairdos longer and fuller by weaving extensions onto existing hair. Mrs.Jenkins has made a change to the field of cosmetology and has helped to boost the self-esteem of men and women across the world.
